FORESTLAND PHOTOGRAPHY

I don't just take product pictures.  Taking nature pictures is right behind family and friends in what makes me happiest and connected with life.  It's humbling and really special to be able to share my passion for nature through making and mounting professional archival prints of my images.

LIMITED EDITION - PRINTS AND READY TO HANG ARTWORK

These limited edition ready to hang pieces are my favorite way to present my favorite images.  I create the 'giclee' prints myself with the highest quality archival inks and museum grade papers available.  I also mount and frame these prints.

Grain Elevator on Hiawatha
This image is of the Harvest State grain elevator on 41st and Hiawatha in Minneapolis.  I love walking near the train tracks in this old industrial area taking pictures of old milling industry buildings, trains, and graffiti.  I took this on one of those super cold but beautiful and sunny January afternoons in Minnesota.

Wet-headed Cranes at Crex Meadows
Early Spring is one of my favorite times of the year to be in nature.  With snow still on the ground, early bird migrants are coming back to the Upper Midwest to nest or pass through on their journey further North.  This picture was taken in early April in the wetlands of the Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area.

-The Canon Lucia EX Pigment Inks are known for their vivid colors and the archival qualities to withstand UV light and time.
-I add further UV and fingerprint/scuff protection by putting two coats of Hahnemuhle Protective Spray on all of my matte prints.

Superior Sunset in Porcupine Wilderness Mountains State Park - Triptych
After taking pictures all day in the Porcupine Mountains, I was enjoying a drink by the water and was in awe of this beautiful and colorful June sunset.  I ran back to the State Park rustic cabin I was staying at to grab my camera.  I used the shoreline rocks to steady my camera and luckily was able to capture this wonderful sunset on Lake Superior.

Minnehaha Creek Leaf
My then 3 year old daughter picked this leaf up on a Fall walk at Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis.  Using stacked focusing I created a very detailed image of this leaf in my home studio.  The beauty of nature's design is all around us when take the time to look at the detail.

Round Barn in Wisconsin Driftless
The glaciers didn't flatten the beautiful rolling hills of the Driftless Area.  Now dotted with organic farms, Amish communities, and many cool round barns in Vernon County, the Driftless Area is a beautiful sight to see.

Three Sandhills
Sandhill cranes love the Crew Meadows Wildlife Area as much as me.  They leave extremely late in the Fall and return early in the Spring as I took this image on April 2nd.  I really enjoy observing the dinosaur-like look and sound of the Sandhill Cranes as they fly around the wetland prairies of Crex Meadows.
